KAREAREA

Foster exploits the nature of perception, allowing viewers to fill in the blanks and to see whole forms from suggested fragments. This enables Foster to capture an elegant creature in tense motion, by addressing fundamental characteristics through simple geometry. Karearea summarises New Zealand’s native falcon to a few dozen surfaces, yet one instinctively recognises the bird’s power and poise.
